June Drake Peterson, 97, of Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 28 at her home in Naples.

June was born in Windsor, New Jersey to Fred and Bessie Drake at the family home on June 25, 1926. She attended grade school in Windsor and graduated from Allentown High School. June married Ernest W. (Pete) Peterson on March 6,1948, in Hightstown, New Jersey. Together they purchased a 150-acre farm in Allentown, New Jersey. She initially worked as a secretary in the banking industry and then co-founded and managed the office of the EW Peterson Pallet Company, Inc. June was active in the Allentown Presbyterian Church as well as Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church serving on numerous committees throughout the years. She also enjoyed bridge, quilting, needlepoint, reading, traveling, spending time with family, and staying active in everyday life.

June is preceded in death by her husband, Pete Peterson and her sister, Vivian Delzell. She is survived by her daughters, Christine Harrington (Allen) of Hubert, NC and Jill Peterson (Pete DeBaun) of Naples, FL; her grandson, Drake DeBaun of St Paul, MN and her niece, Molly Delzell of Windsor, NJ. June's extended family includes granddaughter Jennifer Hux-Aklar, great granddaughter, Ila Rose Aklar of West Palm, FL and grandson, Robert DeBaun of Philadelphia, granddaughter Emily DeBaun-Orr (Jonathan) and great grandchildren Colin, James and Lucas of Nutley, New Jersey.

A memorial service will be held at Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church in Naples on June 22.2024 at 11:00 am. Contributions in her name can be sent to Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church.
