June C. (Ervin) Collins, 60 of Florence passed away Tuesday July 29th at Compassionate Care Hospice, Trenton after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Trenton, she resided in Trenton and Hamilton Twp. for many years before moving to Florence 13 years ago. June graduated from Steinert High School and attended Rider University. She retired in June of 2008 after 27 years of service from the State of New Jersey from the Appellate Division of the Department of Criminal Justice where she was most recently employed as a paralegal. June took great pride in her job and enjoyed her many friends and co-workers in DCJ. She also formerly worked for the Division of Gaming Enforcement. June enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her 3 beautiful grandchildren. An avid bowler, June participated in local area bowling leagues and was a volunteer at Deborah Heart and Lung. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and bus trips to casinos, Broadway musicals and dining out with the other 3 â??Golden Girls', Chickie, Yvette and Dot. June was blessed with wonderful neighbors at the Tollgate complex in Florence.
Daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia Casper Collins and sister of the late Joseph G. Collins; she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harry, Jr. and Anne Ervin of Roebling; three grandchildren, Harry III, Dale and Gyllian Ervin; a sister, Deloris A. Furda of Hamilton Twp.; a special friend, Dorothy Nemeth; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her special pet â??Trouble' who made her days less boring with his antics whom she loved dearly.
A memorial service will be held 7pm on Wednesday August 6th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St. Bordentown. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 5:30 until the time of service.
