Julie A. Plumeri-Reid, 57, of Allentown, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022. Born on the Fort Knox military base in Kentucky, Julie was a Pell Grant recipient and graduate of The College of New Jersey, graduating summa cum laude. She worked as a teacher for H W Mountz School in Spring Lake. During Julie Reid Plumeri's time as a teacher, she had a great impact on the lives of hundreds of students, families, and the Spring Lake community. Julie was a devoted teacher who was thrilled to finally be recognized with the award of teacher of the year.
Her devotion to her career as a teacher was only eclipsed by her fierce love and devotion to her children. Julie was a loving mother to Connor Egan, Jordan Egan, Jordan Reid, and Christopher Egan. Her loyalty was felt by all including family, friends, students, colleagues, and loved ones. She enjoyed travel especially with her family, including her husband Jamie and their blended family of four children. Julie loved her stepsons Connor and Jordan as her own. She had an incredibly special bond with her daughter Jordan who she shared her love of sports and reading. Julie played games, read, and sang with her beautiful daughter every day. She was incredibly proud of her son Christopher Egan attending all his concerts and soccer games. She considered him the glue connecting all the children and family together. Julie's love and loyalty was boundless, and she loved her many nephews and nieces and her in-laws. Julie was an intellect, who loved to read, go on walks, jam out to good music, travel, take photos and videos and spend time with her beautiful children. She truly enjoyed and appreciated Allentown and all her neighbors working on the traffic committee and doing anything to support and preserve her beloved community.
Predeceased by her mother, Patricia Belmont; Julie is survived by her husband of 15 years, James Egan; her children, Jordan Reid and Christopher Egan; her stepsons, Connor Egan and Jordan Egan; her father Robert Plumeri, her siblings, Kathy Plumeri, Michael Plumeri, and Megan Mountague. Julie is also survived by her former husband, Anthony Reid, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 6 th from 6-8pm and again on Friday, January 7 th from 1-3pm and 6-8pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown, NJ. Cremation will be private. Please be advised that due to the current pandemic face coverings will be required in the funeral home.
