Julia I. Smires, 79, of Pinehurst, NC, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018.  Born in Trenton, she resided in Lawrenceville for many years and was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ewing.  Julia found her dream home in Pinehurst, NC which she visited often before moving there permanently in 2005.

Daughter of the late Albert and Julia Wilcox, she was predeceased by her husband, Clarence "Pete" Smires. Julia is survived by her daughter, Susan Smires and her partner, Jerry Jacobs; her sons and daughters-in-laws, Albert and Elaine Smires and Daniel and Candice Smires; her grandchildren, Jessica Buzney and Audra and Aidan Smires; her great grandson, Cole Buzney; her sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Walt Markulec; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Clara and George Briggs, Estella Smires, Diane Smires, Christine Smires and Ed Smires as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation with the family will be held Friday, October 12 ^th from 10am-12 noon at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
