IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith
Oakerson
April 25, 1941 – October 19, 2024
Judith M. Oakerson, 83, of Jackson NJ, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024 at her home. Born in Allentown, NJ, she resided in Yardville NJ and New Egypt NJ for many years, before moving to Jackson. Judy was a member of the Millstone Elks and a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary. She had an extensive doll collection and was very artistic, loving to create crafts for her friends, family and special people who touched her life. She did ceramics for many years and loved the social atmosphere at "Ceramics". Judy recently took up painting and became quite good in the short time she was painting which led to many jovial discussions within her family about who is going to get which painting when she passed. Judy loved bowling and spending time with her friends in the same league where she bowled for more than 40 years. She was a devoted mother and C.E.O. of "Judy's Mom Taxi" for all of her children's activities and jobs.
Judy had a green thumb and was an accomplished gardener. She also was an animal lover who rescued many baby birds and other wildlife since she was a young girl in Allentown. Her beloved father once wrote her a note which she cherished: "The animals think much of you, even the pigeons do."
Daughter of the late Evans P. and Annie Conine; she was predeceased by her brother, John Richard Conine. Judith is survived by her children and their spouses, Evans and Janine Oakerson, Ann Marie and William Mershon, Andrew and Tracey Oakerson, and Dawn and Don Bunce; her grandchildren, Nicole, Matthew, Ashley, T.J., Ryan, and Meghan; her great grandchildren, Riley, Madilynn, Jaxson, Mason, several nieces and nephews, and her loving Canine Companion, Maya.
Judy's family are very grateful to the many friends who have helped Judy over the years with Doctor's appointments, errands, "Maya care" and companionship. They are grateful to Judy's second cousin Michelle, who helped look after her recently as her health declined. Judy and Michelle created a wonderful friendship in the time they had together. In years past, Judy was checking on her elderly neighbors who may have needed some assistance. The family knows that Judy was very thankful for all her friends and the help she had received. Judy handled her condition and the increasing limitations with grace, mostly in silence, not complaining and accepting, often saying: "It is what it is."
A viewing will be held from 10am to 11:30am on Saturday, October 26th with the service to begin at 11:30 am at the Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown. Interment will follow in Allentown Methodist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Judith's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at www.stjude.org
