Josiah Franklin Houseworth, Sr., 90, of Bordentown, died Sunday, December 11, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bordentown and resided there most of his life. He was an Army veteran serving during WWII. He retired from John A. Roebling Co. where he had over 30 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion and a former member of Yapewi Aquatic Club.
Husband of the late Helen Marie Grow and Grandfather of the late Kenny Houseworth, he is survived by 3 sons and their wives, Kenneth Franklin and Joanne Houseworth of Lawrenceville, Franklin and Melanie Houseworth of Plant City, FL and David and Marie Houseworth of Bordentown; 3 sisters, Virginia Sadler and Thelma Carroll, both of Fieldsboro and Doris Earling of Lakehurst; 10 grandchildren, Madison, Emma, Joshua, Joseph, Corey, Cody, David Jr., Michael, Christopher and Daniel; 4 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Rachel, Jadyn and Danny; several nieces and nephews and precious companions Morgan, Miller, and Piper.
Funeral services will be held Thursday December 15 th at 11:00 a.m. from the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6 to 9 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Moorestown Visiting Nurse Association, 300 Harper Drive, Moorestown, NJ, 08057.
