Joseph M. Vetter, 75, of Phillipsburg, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital in Easton PA, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bayonne he was a graduate of Snyder High School in Jersey City, NJ. A US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, Joseph retired from Local 28 where he worked as a boilermaker.
A member of the American Legion and Disabled Veterans of America, he enjoyed golf, traveling, Doo-wop music, Frank Sinatra, watching his kids' sporting events and then later, his grandchildren's, and spending time with his family. His family has so many fond memories of him enjoying the Jersey Shore and Key West, FL. Joseph was a huge dog lover and is hopefully now with his beloved Cuddles and Ralph.
Son of the late Anthony R. and Nora Vetter, he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Valerie Vetter; his daughter, Deana Vetter of Middletown; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Agnes Vetter of Middletown and John and Vianney Vetter of Bellmawr; his grandchildren, Noah and Jackson Mangone, Anthony and Danielle Vetter and his faithful dog, Jasmine.
The youngest of 11 children, Joseph is survived by his siblings Lois Faddy, Theresa Kelty, Corine Kavanagh, Joanne Conticello & her husband, Vincent. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, too many to name, yet all loved dearly by him.
A viewing will be held Thursday, July 20th from 10-11am, with a funeral service to begin at 11am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown, NJ 08501. Interment will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
