Joseph S. Varga, 61, of Bordentown, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Samaritan Hospice, Mt. Holly. Born in Trenton he was a longtime Bordentown area resident. A US Navy Veteran, Joseph graduated from Florence High School in 1971 and went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from the College of New Jersey. He worked for the State of New Jersey, Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction where he was employed as the engineer in charge of maintenance for the Justice Complex. Joseph was an avid basketball fan and was a coach for BABL. He also was a proud blood donor for the Red Cross. Joe enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including listening to Oldies music, bike riding, and going for walks.
Son of the late Louis and Irene Varga, he is survived by his wife, Patricia J. Varga (nee Henry); his daughter, Meghan P. Lettiere and her husband Michael; his son Sean J. Varga; grandson, Benjamin Lettiere; brother, Louis J. Varga and two sisters, Maryann Gardenhire and Dona Varga.
A service to celebrate Joseph's life will be held 11am on Wednesday, October 22nd at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Inurnment will follow at Bordentown Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 9am until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christ Episcopal Church, 130 Prince St., Bordentown, NJ 08505 or to the Bordentown City Cats, Inc., PO Box 421, Bordentown, NJ 08505.
