Joseph S. Sopronyi , 74, passed away Wednesday January 15, 2025, at Capital Health in Trenton, NJ. Born in Trenton, Joe grew up in the Chambersburg section before moving to Florence Township, 40 years ago. Joe was a member of the United States Army for 4 years and upon discharge, Joe went on to work for the State of New Jersey, Department of Transportation for 32 years. During his time at DOT, he worked as heavy equipment operator and later became a crew supervisor. Joe served as a volunteer for the Burlington County Superior Court Juvenile Conference Committee for 10 years and spent 20 years volunteering at St. Lawrence Rehabilitation helping with patient transportation. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, was an avid reader, and spent as much time as possible at his house in the Poconos. Joe was a devoted and loving husband and father, as well as adored his dogs and grand dogs. Joe had a magnetic personality and amazing sense of humor. He loved to share stories about his life's ups and downs. His commanding presence, stories, and deep love for his family and friends will be truly missed.

Predeceased by his parents George and Margaret Sopronyi and his twin brothers, John and Michael Sopronyi; he is survived by his loving wife of almost 40 years, Barbara Gambino Sopronyi; his son Joe A. Sopronyi of Florence Twp; his daughter Alison Sopronyi and her husband David Kroemer of Hamilton Twp; his brother Peter Sopronyi and his wife Debbie of Jackson Twp and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A gathering to celebrate Joe's life will be held from 11 am to 2 pm on Saturday January 25 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ 08505. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
