Joseph H. Schoen, 64, passed away Tuesday, April, 7th at his home in Summitville, NY. Born in Trenton, Joe was raised in the area. He was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam. Growing up, Joe was a star pitcher for the Allentown Little League and helped take his team to the state championships. He started his career as a greens keeper early on by working at local Cream Ridge golf courses and went on to work at many prominent golf courses both in New Jersey and New York. He recently retired from Stoneyford Golf Course in NY. Joe was a great car enthusiast and enjoyed working on and putting together ""hot rods"". He was a kind and generous man to everyone he met.
Daughter of the late Herbert and Elizabeth Schoen, he is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Mary Ellen ""Mitzi"" Schoen of Chesterfield, William and Pam Schoen of Tucson, AZ; a sister, Nancy Lease of Tucson, AZ; a nephew, Brian Schoen of Bordentown, two nieces, Kelly Schoen of Cape Coral, FL and Kristin Wishnow and her husband Eric of Hillsborough as well as a great niece and nephew, Madison and Andrew Wishnow.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Monday, April 13th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Friends may call Monday from 12pm until the time of service. Cremation will be private at the convenience of the family.
