Joseph Notarian, 92, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Holy Spirit Hospital. Born in Ewing, Joseph was a graduate of Trenton Central High School. He served in the Army Air Corps and later in the Army National Guard. Joseph worked as a flight instructor and airport manager for the Robbinsville airport from 1949 until he started his career with the FAA in 1962. He was stationed at several airports including Rochester, NY, Allentown Bethlehem Easton Airport and finally retiring as an Operations Inspector in 1989 from Capital City Airport. A member of the Mechanicsburg Rod & Gun Club, Joseph was an avid hunter and a talented marksman. He was an assistant Boy Scout Leader and loved to garden and used his own tomatoes to make spaghetti sauce.
Son of the late Roger and Anna Notarian, he was predeceased by his siblings, Jack Notarian, Rose Notarian, Eileen Fell and Marge Naphen and his brothers-in-law, Sam Hutchinson and John Constance. Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Carol Notarian; his children, Susan (Ric) Kipker of Nashville, TN, A. Elizabeth (Marc) Hoogstraten of Orlando, FL and Roger (Angela) Notarian of Cadillac, MI; his sister, Patricia Constance; his brother, Philip Notarian; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Donna Hutchinson and Gail and John Bray; four grandchildren, Grant, Kyle, Quinn and Alycia, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11am on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 So. Main St. Allentown, NJ. Friends may call 10am until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2310 Route 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
