Joseph Montalbano , 78, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013, at Cooper University Health Care, Camden, with his loving family by his side. Born in Newark, NJ he had lived in the Columbus NJ area for the last 30 years. He was a WW II Army veteran and a member of the 82 nd Airborne Division. Joseph worked for the United States Postal Service and retired after 25 years. His family was very important to him, especially his grandchildren. Joseph will be deeply missed by all.
Son of the late Giovanni and Angiolina Montalbano, he is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Lucia D'Archi Montalbano, his two sons and daughters-in-law, Carlo and Donna Montalbano of Mt. Jackson, VA and Robert and Renee Montalbano of Columbus, two brothers, Augie Montalbano and his wife Paula of Waretown, NJ and Anthony ""Tommy"" Montalbano of Cedar Knoll, NJ; two sister-in-laws, Lillian Montalbano of Florham Park, NJ, and Mary Montalbano of Mountaindale, NY; six grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Jake, Kirsten, Nicholas and Nina and many more nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, September 6 th at St. Mary's Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Entombment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Burlington. Friends may call Thursday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and again Friday morning 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown.
