Joseph Howard McCloe, 87, born October 10, 1925 to the late Howard Joseph and Eva Lyla McCloe of Allentown, departed this life on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton, NJ, surrounded by his loving family. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Margaret V. McCloe; a sister, Carolyn Mobley and a brother, Cornelius McCloe. Joseph received his education in the Allentown school system and was a US Navy Veteran. Joseph, affectionately known as ""Brother Boy"" to his friends and family, retired from Acme Rubber after 33 years of faithful service. After retirement, Joseph was employed by Princeton University and Wells Fargo at the Hibbert Group of Trenton. Joseph also enjoyed spending his leisure time with his lovely wife of 64 years, traveling and spending quality time with his adoring family and friends. Joseph was a faithful member of the Union A. M. E. Church for over fifty years where he served for many years as a trustee and usher. Many times you would find Joseph alongside his wife at Hostess Club activities as chairman of the clean up committee.
Joseph leaves to cherish his wonderful memories; two loving and devoted daughters, Gloria Jean Leonard (Gregory Sr.) and Jacqueline Anne Richardson (Wesley); five grandchildren, Michelle D. Palmer (Shawn), Keith W. Richardson, Justin R., Gregory Jr. (Katrice) and Courtney L. Leonard; three great grandchildren, Morgan L. and Shawn M. Palmer and Kamryn M; one sister, Martha Weathers; a brother Marvin McCloe as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 12 pm Monday, October 15 th at the Union A.M.E Church, 72 Church St., Allentown NJ. The Rev. Carl Wade, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in No. Crosswicks Cemetery, Hamilton. Calling hours will be from 10 am until time of the church service.Visits: 0
