Joseph F. Lankewicz, 66, of Plumsted, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021. Born and raised in Plainview, Long Island, NY, he resided in Brick, NJ for many years before moving to New Egypt. Joseph was a proud US Navy veteran who served as a boiler technician on the USS Jonas Ingram. After his time in the service, he worked for Central Jersey Boiler Company until his retirement. Joseph loved to share stories of his world traveling while in the Navy, with his favorite destination being Africa. In his spare time Joseph enjoyed driving around in his corvettes and his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He loved getting tattoos and was always excited to show them off. He loved his family and always put everyone else's needs before his own. He was an extremely thoughtful man who was loving and kind to his family, friends, and neighbors.
Son of the late Theresa and Joseph F. Lankewicz Sr., he was predeceased by his wife, Ellen. Joseph is survived by his daughter, Ashlee Lankewicz; his stepdaughter, Jennifer Lyne; his grandsons, Dylan and Dallas Key (Emily Reuter); his siblings, Diane Horowitz and her husband, Alan, Michael Lankewicz, and Patricia Trapp and her husband, George; his nieces and nephews, Jessica Horowitz and her husband John, Max Horowitz and his wife Angelina, George Trapp and Billy Trapp; his grandniece Dakota O'Connor; and his grandnephews, Johnny O'Connor and Laken Horowitz.
A burial service with Navy honors will be held at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery on Monday, April 19 th at 2pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
