Retired Major Joseph G. Huggler, 87, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2017 at RWJ University Hospital at Hamilton. Born and raised in Old Forge, PA he had lived in Bordentown Township since 1955. He was a graduate of the University of Scranton where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree. He retired a Major with the US Air Force after serving 20 years with 7000+ flying hours and 43 combat missions during Vietnam. Joseph then worked for the State of NJ Department of Transportation, as a Bureau a Chief, dealing with the elderly and handicapped transportation. Additionally, he was a licensed Real Estate Broker and was an Assistant Broker at Radice Realtor Inc.
Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be deeply missed. The world has lost the most perfect man we know. His infectious laugh was heard at every gathering. He still said grace at every meal. He sang "Hello Dolly" while going about his everyday life. He touched the life of so many with his gregarious personality and generosity. He was our rock.
Predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Marguerite "Peggy" Huggler, he is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law: Charlene and Angelo Marsico of Myrtle Beach, SC, Margaret and William Lebak of Long Beach Island, NJ and Marlene and John Lebak of Daufuskie Island, SC. Eight grandchildren: Dr. Stephen Dubernas and his wife Carly Dubernas, Officer Brian Dubernas, Dr. William Lebak and his wife Dr. Jen Lebak, Dr. Ashley Cassera and her husband Dr. Matt Cassera, Lauren Lichtenstein and her husband Matt Lichtenstein, Stephanie Lebak NP, Kimberly Lebak, Lisa Lebak and three great grandchildren: William Dubernas, Avery Lebak and Adelyn Cassera.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Wednesday, January 10 at St. Mary's Church, 45 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Interment will be private. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 pm and again on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown.
