Joseph A. Havens, 75, passed away Sunday, June 6, at his home. Born in Mt. Holly, NJ, he was a lifelong area resident of Bordentown. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, and retired from AAA Trucking of Trenton. Joe enjoyed trips to Philadelphia Park and traveling to Florida every October and spending time with his family.
Son of the late Harry and Catherine Havens (neeO'Connor) and brother of the late Paul, Charles, Henry and Ruth Havens, he is survived by his loving companion, Joan E. O'Connell, her daughter, Claudette Schramm and her husband Buddy of Mt. Holly, five children, Joseph Havens Jr. of Levittown, Patricia Chantry and her husband Steve of Frederica, DE. Michael Havens of Boynton Beach, FL., David Havens and his wife Tina of Virginia Beach, VA and Kevin Havens and his wife Amber of Chesapeake, VA. Two brothers, Earl Havens of Whiting and Harry Havens of Bordentown City. 11 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Several nieces and nephews and special friends Lou and Linda and Ed O'Connor.
Funeral Services will be Thursday 10 am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Interment will follow in Bordentown Cemetery, Borentown Twp. Friends may call Wednesday evening 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St., PO BOX 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007.
