Joseph F. Gerickont of Southampton passed away Tuesday, June 13th, at home after a long battle with cancer. He was 89. Born in Piscataway, Joe was a long-time dairy farmer in Piscataway, before relocating in 1989 to Southampton, NJ. He established Roanne Farms with his brother George Gerickont and late wife Rosie Gerickont, where he grew grain, hay, and straw before his retirement in 2020.

Joe was a man of his word, a stubborn, hardheaded, hardworking farmer who loved his farm. Once he was your friend, he was always your friend. There wasn't a day that went by when he didn't speak of Rosie and their love for one another and their farm. He is now at peace with the love of his life again.

He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Sophia Gerickont of Piscataway, husband of the late Rosie Gerickont, and brother to the late Francis Lauria. Joe is survived by his brother George Gerickont of Southampton, nieces Diane Chiocchi, and Darlene Lauria, and nieces, nephews, cousins, and best friends, and sadly missed by his dog Tanky.

Services will be held Friday 11:30 am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Calling hours will be from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, NJ.
