Joseph D. Gendron, 84, of Chesterfield, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Tarrytown, NY, he moved to Chesterfield 40 years ago to the farm he always dreamt of owning. Joe served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force, before working as a supervisor for General Motors. He was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7333. Joe enjoyed gardening, bargain hunting and loved spending time with his family.
Son of the late Frank and Yvonne Gendron, he was predeceased by his sister, Cecile Weeks. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Catherine Gendron, his sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Joyce Gendron, Paul and Heather Gendron and Dennis Schmidt; his grandchildren, Jordan Gendron, Jessica Betzer and her husband Joshua, Roy Gendron, Amy Jo Hull and her husband, Vince, and Brittney Benham; his great granddaughter, Kayleigh Betzer; his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and William Madden; his brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Rita Gendron; several nieces and nephews as well as many friends and brother Knights.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Thursday, February 4 th at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Allentown. Inurnment will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. Memorial contributions may be made in Joe's name to the Knights of Columbus Council 7333, c/o St. John's Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Allentown, NJ 08501.
Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
