Joseph E. Gaughan, 82, of Chesterfield passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at his home. Born in Lost Creek #2, PA, he resided in Philadelphia, PA and Newtown, PA for several years before moving to Chesterfield in 1974. A U.S. Army veteran, Joseph retired as a Millwright from US Steel Company in Fairless Hills, PA. He had a strong work ethic and was dedicated to his family. Joseph enjoyed the outdoors including hunting and fishing. After his retirement, he continued to work hard by tending to his vegetable garden and cutting wood. He also had fun down in Atlantic City taking pictures of sunrises and playing the slots with his wife.
Son of the late John and Della Gaughan, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy P. Gaughan; his son, Sean, daughter-in-law, Diane, and grandsons Jackson and Joshua, all of Granger, IN; his niece, Kimberley Southern as well as other nieces and nephews.
Services were private under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Health Group and designated to the Barnabas Health Home Care and Hospice at:
