Joseph Farkas, 85, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Capital Health System, Mercer Campus, in Trenton. Born in Upper Freehold Township, he had lived in Bordentown Township for the last 45 years. He retired after 20 years with the Northern Burlington Regional School District. Joseph was proud of his Hungarian Heritage, enjoyed fishing and taking care of his fish pond. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and will be sadly missed by all.
Son of the late John and Mary Farkas, he is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Virginia L. Farkas (nee Fennimore), his daughter and son-in-law; Diane and Robert Mangus of Florence, his brother; John Farkas of Jacobstown, his sister; Emma Neil and her husband Harold of Trenton, a brother-in-law; Clarence Fennimore and his wife Barbara, a sister-in-law; Joan Fedor and her husband Alex and his two grandchildren: Lauren Miller and her husband Bryan and Kyle Mangus both of Florence.
Funeral Services will be 11 am Thursday, May 26 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown. Interment will follow in Bordentown Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday evening 6 to 8 pm and again Thursday morning 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 339 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, NJ 08505.
