His Season
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

Johnny C. White, born June 29, 1938 to the late Rueben Jack and Mae Bell White in Crescent City Florida. He was the eighth child of fourteen children; which six preceded him in death; Ruby Lee, Aaron, Lillian Louise, Billy Ray, James Otis, and Rueben Jack. Early Saturday morning May 17, 2014, the Lord called him from labor to reward.
He was honored with the nickname 'Smokey" as a young lad, after getting into trouble (as all children do) running so fast if left his friends in the dust and from that day until now he was called Smokey.
He received his formal education through the Central Academy located in Palatka Florida, up until the tenth grade when he had to stop and help his parents with seasonal work to support their large family.
At an early age he was introduced to the Lord, forming a relationship with him. He was called to the ministry and preached many powerful and soul-stirring sermons. In his latter years, he began attending church with his eldest sister Overseer Ruby Trammell (Founder of Miracle Pentecostal Church of Deliverance)
Johnny C relocated to New Jersey in 1963, residing in Allentown for fifty years. He met and married Bettye Jean and six children were born. Four preceded him in death; a set of twin boys James Otis and Johnny Otis; Faith Denise and Lorenzo.
Later in life he met his dedicated and loyal companion Lena Mae Mitchell, and they were blessed with two daughters.
Johnny C was employed as a truck driver for many years with Simmons and Mount and he also worked with other trucking companies, always making provisions for his family. He was an entrepreneur with an extermination service and became well known for his disc jockey skills, in the community and various other venues he was known as "Loving John."
Johnny C was an avid fisherman although many relatives and friends accompanied him, none compared to the many fishing trips with his grandchildren where each time he received the reward of ultimate joy. His grandson Haneef was more like a son and their bond was undeniable.
His favorite pet of all times Nemo also preceded him in death.
Johnny C left to remember him; a devoted mate Lena Mae Mitchell; one son Johnny Jr., (Luemisher) White; four daughters, Antoinette LaRose White; Shirley White; Tangie Nako (Kyron) Jones; Denise LaRose (Tiwan) Harvey; three brothers, Willie Sylvester White; William (Leslie) White; Cornelius White; four sisters, Anna Lee Mims; Hattie Mae (Al) Gillard; Dorothy Ann (John) Williams; Rutha Bell White; eighteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two goddaughters, Sidney Goldstein; Kristina Henderson and a host of relatives and friends.
A Service for Johnny will begin at 10am, Saturday, May 24th at the First United Methodist Church of Hightstown, 187 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Friends and family may call between 9-10am Saturday morning at the church. Interment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville.
