Johnnie (Babe) Troutman Jr., 66, of Browns Mills, NJ, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024. Born March 15, 1958, in Philadelphia, PA he grew up in Clarksburg, NJ. Johnnie was a graduate of Allentown High School and a US Army veteran. After serving his country, Johnnie worked as a carpenter and mason, constructing both residential homes and businesses. He loved spending time with his family and friends, grilling and having a good time. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and riding the quad. Johnnie was instrumental in the lives of his grandchildren and spent as much time as possible with them. He would always say a few catch phrases like "no job is too big or too small", "you watchum you catchum" and "say what you wanna say….do what you wanna do… ahhhhhhh".
Son of the late Catherine and Johnnie Troutman Sr., he was predeceased by his siblings, Jean Wood, Janice Troutman, Eugene Troutman and James Troutman and by his mother-in-law Ellen Williams. Johnnie is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Norma Troutman; his children, Ashley Troutman (Frankie Hames), Johnnie Troutman, III, and Xavier Troutman (Victoria Webb); his grandchildren, Xavier Troutman, Jr., Legend Hames, and Brixton Hames; his siblings, Betty Jean McPhee, Joann Troutman, Joyce Troutman, Daniel Payton (Chrissy), Althea Troutman, Sylvia Troutman, and Nicole Smith (James); his aunt, Armada Mercer; his father-in-law, Norman Williams and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Karen Troutman, Norman Williams, Sr., Norman Williams Jr., Cynthia Williams and Jason Jones (Breyn). Johnnie had several God Children, Nadia Neal, Catherine Troutman, Jalah Smith and Tyrique Brown. Johnnie is also survived by his lifelong brothers Butch "rock steady my brother", Ronnie, John and Storia, the Alexander family, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and a multitude of friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday November 13th at St. Mark Baptist Church, 545 Lakehurst Rd, Browns Mills, NJ. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the church. Interment will follow in the Brigadier General William C Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
