John J. Monahan, III, 54, of Allentown, passed away Monday, January 25, 2010. Born in Plainfield, he was a longtime Allentown resident. John was employed at Tempel Steel Co. in Chicago for 30 years where he worked as a Warehouse Manager and a Sales Engineer. He was an avid car enthusiast and liked boating and reading.

Son of the late John J. and Catherine Monahan, he is survived by his wife, Debra Monahan; two sons, Brian Monahan of Vail, CO and Kyle Monahan of Ghent, NY; three sisters, Diane and her husband James Burke of Delaware, Catherine Monahan and her companion, Merrill Licktenfeld of New York and Dorothy and her husband James Keane of New York; a brother, Michael Monahan of Lincroft; an aunt, Dorothy Flood of Spring Lake Heights as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held 7:30pm on Thursday, January 28th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Friends may call Thursday 5pm until the time of service.
