Obituary

John David Karpowicz, 59, of Cream Ridge, passed away Monday, May 4th at Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton. Born in Trenton, he was a graduate of Steinert High School. John attended Bob Jones University and William Jennings Bryan College before graduating from Carson-Newman College. He retired from Nottingham High School after 31 Years of employment, where he taught Biology and Marine Ecology and was an assistant cross-country coach. John loved nature, the outdoors and animals. He was an avid hunter and passionate fisherman who fished many tournaments in New Jersey. He loved the Jersey shore, Alaska and the Florida Keys, where he visited often.

Predeceased by his father John Karpowicz, he is survived by his wife of 15 years, MaryAnn Karpowicz; his mother Margaret Karpowicz of Lakeland, Florida; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and John Sulikowski of Lakeland, Florida; three aunts, Kathryn Mascherin of Hamilton, Helen and Frieda Karpowicz of PA.; two nieces, Tanya and Brianna Sulikowski as well as many close friends and fishing buddies.

Funeral Service will be held Friday 10:30 am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. The Rev. Joseph Douglass will officiate. Friends may call Friday 8:30 am until the time of service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's name to the Sport Fishing Fund c/o Tanya Sulikowski 335 Pleasant Valley Road Mendham, NJ 07945. Funds will be used to create an artificial reef in John's name.
