John H. Judson, Jr. (retired Chief Warrant Officer , U.S. Army) passed away at his home on Sunday March 27, 2011.  He was 80.  He was married to Hildegard Ferraro from Hightstown, NJ, who preceded him in death in 1995. John was born March 6, 1931 in Walden, NY.   He graduated high school in 1949 in Montgomery, NY. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1952, serving until 1957, achieving the rank of SSGT.  After separation he joined the U.S. Air Force Reserves later enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1958 and was assigned to McGuire Air Force Base, in the Supply career area.  In 1961, he pioneered and led the first Air Force Marksmanship Program at McGuire. A recognized expert and authority in marksmanship he participated in many nationally sanctioned competitive rifle and pistol matches.  He was one of the first individuals in the Air Force to receive the Distinguished Riflemen Badge in 1967.  He achieved the rank of TSGT in 1966, and although selected to the rank of MSGT, he chose to accept a Army Warrant Officer Commission in 1968. His Army assignments in the Armament career area, included tours in Vietnam & Korea.   He retired in 1972.  His military decorations included the Bronze Star and numerous other awards & decorations. After his military career he worked for Fioci Corporation in Italy as a munitions consultant.  He also was in law enforcement in Charleston South Carolina. He returned to the area in 1975 and worked in Federal Civil Service first at McGuire, then Ft. Dix in Armament repair where he retired in 1992. John was raised to the level of Master Mason in 1965 and was a member of Pemberton Lodge No.199 F.& A. M., NJ.  John was a Past Master in 1983 at Pemberton Lodge and was a Secretary for 11 years. John was also a member of:  Cresent Shriners in Westampton, Valley of Central Jersey Consistory, Mizpah Commandery No. 96, Doylestown, PA., and Doylestown Royal Arch Chapter No. 270. John was also a member of the American Legion Southamton Township NJ, New Egypt Elks Lodge # 2457 and was a Lifetime member of the NRA. After his retirement he and  Hilda traveled via motor home throughout the Northeast.

Son of the late John and Isabelle of Middletown, NY he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Sharon Judson of Boston, MA, two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Charles End of Jacobstown and Sandra and James Aichele of Canadys, SC, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Judy Judson of Ridgefield, CT and Charles and Brenda Judson of Newburg, NY, five grandchildren, Rebecca Temprano and John of VA, Charles End of NJ, Christina Lindsay and Charles of NC, Sarah Cassidy and Shawn of SC and Nicolette Aichele with Patrick Talbert of NC, four great grandchildren, Ian, Abigail, Sophia and James along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Saturday, April 2 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Interment will follow in Jacobstown Cemetery. Friends may call Friday evening 7 to 9 pm at the funeral home and again Saturday morning 9 am until time of service.
