John E. Hollendonner, 89, of Allentown, NJ, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014,at RWJ University Hospital in Hamilton, NJ. Born in Trenton, on October 26, 1924, he was a veteran of the US Army and co-owner of Holland Mold Inc. in Trenton until he retired. John was a long-time resident of Titusville, NJ. An avid hunter, fisherman and boater, he moved to Ramrod Key, FL upon retirement. He also had a home in Rutland, VT. He later moved to West Palm Beach, FL, and finally back to his home state of NJ to be close to his family.
He was predeceased by parents, Frank and Mary Hollendonner, and his brother, Frank Hollendonner, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy (Dottie) Johnston Hollendonner. Also surviving are his sons, John, and his wife, Laurie, of Akron, Ohio; Wayne, and his wife, Joan, of Ewing; Bruce, and his wife, Grace, of Hamilton, and his daughter, Mary Jane German, and her husband, Paul, of Jackson. He also leaves his grandchildren Wesley Hollendonner, Brenton German and his wife, Erica, and Heather German, and her husband, Cody, and his great-grandchildren, Sophia German, Bella and Jacobi Tussing.
Memorial services will take place on April 1 st , 6pm at Allentown United Methodist Church, 23 Church St., Allentown, NJ, followed by a meal at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home in Allentown.
