John R. Fazekas, 77, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, with his family by his side. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Hamilton Township, for the last 47 years. John worked at Switlik Parachute Company, prior to serving four years in the US Navy. There he was an aviation structural mechanic in VX-3, an experimental squadron. He later worked for DeLaval Steam Turbine in time study and later as a programmer. He was a member of the Hamilton Chess Club and the American Legion. John loved being with his family, playing chess and his monthly card games with his cousins. ""John's love for his family and friends has filled our hearts. His integrity, bravery and loyalty have been an inspiration to us"".
Son of the late John and Ethel Fazekas, he is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Mary Fazekas; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Tarilyn Fazekas of Palm Bay, FL; his daughter, Teri Truby of Bordentown; four grandsons, Adam and Matthew Fazekas and Kevin and Alex Truby; his aunt, Gretta Kovarie and numerous cousins.
Funeral Services will be 11 am Monday, November 22, at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton Township. Friends may call Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 pm and again Monday morning 10 am until time of service at the funeral home.
