John H. Exner, 81, passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Hamilton, with his family by his side. He was born in Bordentown and was a resident of the area his entire life. He retired from the State of New Jersey and had worked for the B.M.I. and Johnstone Training Center. John was deeply involved with his grandchildren and could be seen supporting them at whatever they were involved in. He enjoyed sports and frequent trips to the shore. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Predeceased by his parents, John and Agnes Exner and his sister, Jean Potts, he is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Joan Exner (Ulmer), his son: John (Jack) Exner, his daughters: Judy Blakeslee (Mike Hauldridge), Jill Hilton and Jennifer Schroeder (Greg), his sister Elizabeth Foster, 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 am on Wednesday, November 15 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Interment will follow in Bordentown Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 am until time of service at the funeral home.
