John K. Erbe, Jr., 93, of Yardville, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Philadelphia, he resided in Robbinsville for most of his life before moving to Yardville in 1995. John farmed in the area for many years and worked for Farm Fresh in Hightstown. He later worked for Sterling Drug in Trenton, retiring in 1984 and then went on to work for the Washington Twp. School Board from which he retired in 1995. John was a very active member of the First Church of the Nazarene and was a loving and devoted family man who helped raise and support his siblings from a young age. His favorite times were spent in the garden and with his family.

Son of the late John and Mary Kilmer Erbe; he was predeceased by his son, Mark W. Erbe, his brother, Chester and sister, Ruth. John is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Helen Hawks Erbe; two sons and daughters-in-law, David G. and Barbara Erbe of Pamplin, VA and John W. and Connie Erbe of Phoenixville, PA; three daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah R. and Donald Dunphey of Lewis DE, Rebecca F. and Scott Shropshire of Lawrenceville and Rachel B. and Wade Ely of Bordentown; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon E. and Naomi Erbe of FL, Lester S. and Shirley Erbe of Hightstown, Wesley P. and Sally Erbe of Allentown, Samuel M. and Cindy Erbe of Boston, MA and Daniel E. and Kathy Erbe of VA; two sisters, Hannah Erbe and Esther Petersohn both of VA; a sister-in-law, Doris Jones of TN; twelve grandchildren, Michael, Kimberly and Eric Erbe, Donald Dunphey, Faith Brantley, April Johnson, Charles Erbe, Heather, Ashley and Brittany Shropshire and Amber and Justin Ely; six great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 12pm on Saturday, May 15th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Entombment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville. Friends may call Saturday from 10am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, 100 Bull Run Rd., Pennington, NJ 08534.
