Obituary

John F. Campbell Sr., 95, of Hamilton Township, passed away on October 8, 2018 at Samaritan Hospice House, Voorhees, with his family by his side. John was born in Long Branch and lived most of his life in Hamilton Township. John dedicated himself to serving others in his community and his country.

He was an esteemed Captain of the Hamilton Township Police Department for 35 years until his retirement. John also proudly served in the US Navy as a medical corpsman in World War II. He was aboard one of the many ships that stormed the beaches of Normandy on that fateful day, June 6, 1944. Following the war, he became a member of the Navy Reserves for twenty two years until he retired as Medical Chief Petty Officer.

During his leisure time, John was a loyal Mets fan, avid golfer, animal lover, card shark and spent time frequenting the casinos. He was also an active member of the VFW and PBA.

John loved being surrounded by his loving family and will be greatly missed by them all.

Son of the late James Campbell and Mary Stewart, he is predeceased by his first wife, Dolrita Campbell and second wife, Joan Knowles and his son-in-law, William Randazzo, Jr.  John leaves to cherish his memory his son, John Campbell, Jr. and his partner, Jill Watanabe; three daughters, Charleen Campbell and her partner, Jerry Innocenti, Mary Randazzo, and Kathleen Staub and her husband, Wayne; ten grandchildren, Kim Stillman, John Campbell III, William Randazzo III, Elizabeth Racobaldo, Melissa Haigh, Allison Serzan, Megan Campbell, Craig Sami, Michael and Jared Staub; and fifteen great-grandchildren, Ryan, Jack and Katie Korchick, Richard, Alexander and Christopher Racobaldo, Tatum and Summer Randazzo, Isabella, Reed, and Griffin Haigh, Vincent, Jonathan, Nicholas and Abigail Serzan.

Relatives and friends may visit on Sunday evening, Oct. 14 th from 5 to 9pm at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 Main St., Allentown, NJ. **Please note that Main Street and Church Street will be closed on Sunday until 6pm due to the Fall Festival. The best access to funeral Home will be from Yardville-Allentown Rd.** The funeral will held on Monday, October 15 th at 11:00 at the funeral home followed by interment at the Princeton Memorial Park,  Robbinsville, NJ.
