John A. Braun Jr., 60 passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in Moorestown, NJ. Born in Trenton, he was raised and lived in Chambersburg before moving to Bordentown, Ewing, and then Moorestown. He was employed by the New Jersey Turnpike as a sign fabricator for nearly 20 years. A gifted athlete he was an All-State pitcher for Trenton High School and MCCC and had tried out for the New York Yankees. Being a lifelong fan, pitching at Yankee Stadium fulfilled his ultimate dream. John was a movie buff who enjoyed doing his daily crossword puzzle. His summers were filled with trips to the Jersey Shore with his family. As the summer would come to a close, the baseball season would just be heating up. Being a season ticket holder, John would enjoy going to the NY Yankee games with his sons and friends. A proud member of ""Steeler nation"", football season was special to him. He relished watching the Steeler games with his nephew Todd. John had a fabulous sense of humor that made life entertaining for all around him. A kind, loving and gentle man he will be missed by many.
Son of the late John and Helen Braun, he is survived by his beloved wife Linda Atkinson; two sons John A. III and Adam C. Braun, both of Bordentown; a daughter, Tiffany Immordino of Hamilton; his sister Susan Jacobs of Ewing Twp.; step-children, Ryan and Shelby Martini of Moorestown; four grandchildren, Alex, Vencenzio, Taylor and Carla; a veryclose nephew, Todd Jacobs; a special niece close to his heart, Lexi Jacobs, as well as adored nieces and nephews, Tyler and Bailey Sheehan and Trent Major.
A memorial service celebrating John's life will be held 12 noon Saturday, February 26 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Family and friends may call from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
