John E. Block, 95, of Allentown, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Serenity Hospice at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Hamilton. Born in Jersey City, John moved to Allentown in 1953 where he built his family home.  John worked for the Railroad and later retired as a self-employed drapery installer after 35 years. A life member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Bordentown, John loved watching football and golf and was a huge Jeopardy fan. Mostly a homebody, he loved visiting with his friends in the "Breakfast Club" and Allentown Gym Group which he continued to do until his passing.

Son of the late George and Dorothy Block, John is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Sally Block; his daughter and son-in-law Susan and Daniel Orr of Chester Springs, PA; his step-daughter, Kimberly Duckett and her husband, Adam of Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA; his stepson, Steve D'Artagnan and his wife, Stacy; his siblings, Marilyn Deiseroth and her husband, Paul of Pine Valley, NY, Ralph Block of Nutley, NJ and Virginia Beach, VA, and Dorothy Heflich and her husband, John Jr; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Cremation will be private under the direction of Peppler funeral home Allentown.
