John F. Altman, 88, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Capital Health System, Helene Fuld Campus, in Trenton. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, he had lived in Hamilton Township prior to moving to Bordentown Township 18 years ago. He was retired from the U.S. Army, a graduate of Trenton State College and worked as the Head Librarian for the Burlington County Vocational School. John was a class advisor for the Vocational School and the school bowling team. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bordentown and a member of the church choir. He enjoyed sports, travel and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Joan Altman (Phillips), his son and daughter-in-law: Jonathan and Molly Altman of Valley Forge, PA. Daughters: Doris, her husband Dr. David Katcherian, Debbie Tinnerello and her husband Paul of Flemington, NJ and Lori Ochoa of Catawissa, PA. His sisters: Ruth Gilfallan of North Carolina and Dottie Boccanfuso of Florida, eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 11 am Friday, June 22 at the First Baptist Church of Bordentown, 127 Prince St., Bordentown, NJ. Friends may call from 10 am until time of service at the church. Interment will follow in Bordentown Cemetery, Bordentown Township, NJ.
