Joel P. Smith, 92 of New Egypt, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 surrounded by his family at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton.  Born in Spring Valley, NY, he has resided in New Egypt for many years.  Mr. Smith worked as a dairy farmer for Conover Dairy in Hightstown and later retired from Princeton Nursery in Allentown.  He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in East Windsor who worked hard to support and care for his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jo Ann Smith; his children and their spouses, Timothy and Rose Smith of Fairless Hills, PA, David and Bonnie Smith of Browns Mills, Patricia and Herman Miller of Cream Ridge, Joel and Tina Smith of Apple Valley, CA, Jeffrey and Jo Ann Smith of Florence, Amy and Art Petrenko of New Egypt and Don and Lisa Smith of Hightstown; 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 11am on Friday, December 9 ^th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown.  Interment will follow in Cream Ridge Cemetery.  Friends may call Thursday from 7-9pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of NJ, 1034 Salem Rd., Union, NJ 07083.
