Joan Scharite, 84, of Ellisdale, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Compassionate Care Hospice, Hamilton. Born in Trenton, she raised her family in Yardville and later moved to Ellisdale, where she and her husband Frank built a house which would later serve as a home to raise all her grandchildren. Joan loved crafting and spending time down at the Jersey shore in Wildwood with her family.


Daughter of the late Michael and Jenny Sary, she was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Frank Scharite; two sons, Edward and Carl Scharite and her sister-in-law, Doris Sary. Joan is survived by her grandchildren, Brett Ashley Nemeth, Georgia Paige, Lisa Marie, Derek Matthew and Emily Michelle Scharite; her brother, Edward Sary; her step-brother, Michael "Sonny" Sary; her daughter-in-law, Judy Scharite as well as nieces and nephews.


A memorial service will be held 12pm on Saturday, January 2nd at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Inurnment will follow in Ellisdale Cemetery. Friends and family may call Saturday from 11am until the time of service.
