Joan D. Exner , 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Samaritan Hospice in Mount
Holly Township, NJ. Born in Trenton, she was a resident of Bordentown her entire life. She worked for
Bordentown Regional School District and retired from the State of New Jersey Department of Health .
Joan was a dedicated, lifelong Philladphia sports fan. She was deeply involved with all of her
grandchildren and was their biggest supporter no matter what they were involved in. She will be deeply
missed by her family and friends.
Predeceased by her parents William Russell and Gertrude Byard Ulmer, her beloved husband John H.
Exner, her son Jack Exner and her brothers: Robert and Albert Ulmer. She is survived by her daughters:
Judy Blakeslee and Mike Hauldridge, Jill Hilton, Jennifer Schroeder and her husband Greg all of
Bordentown. Her sister, Rose Pullen of Florence, 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday, September 8 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks
St, Bordentown, NJ. Friends may call from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will
follow in Bordentown Cemetery, Bordentown Township, NJ.
