December 3, 1928 – January 21, 2025
Joan Evelyn Moore, 96, formerly of Cream Ridge, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Applewood Manor in Freehold, NJ. Born and raised in Staten Island, NY, she resided in Cream Ridge for many years prior to moving to Freehold. She was married to her high school sweetheart, and they spent thirty-six loving years together. Joan was a loving wife and mother who took great pride in raising four children. In addition to her home duties, she also worked as a bank teller for several banks and as a bus driver for Upper Freehold Regional School District. She was a long-time member of the Allentown Villagers. Joan had many friends and enjoyed a very active social life that involved many activities such as bowling, oil painting, playing cards, and occasionally golfing. She was a true competitor and was particularly passionate about playing Canasta and Bingo. Joan was fond of Big Band music and loved to dance.
Predeceased by her husband, William Moore and by her son-in-law, Frank Borzio, she is survived by her four children, Stephen Moore and his wife Debra, Lynn Borzio, Lori Himes and her husband Kenneth, and Sue Wilson; her half-sister, Linda Ashby and her husband, Michael; her half-brothers, Charles Scowcroft and his wife Brenda, William Scowcroft and his wife Pat; eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held between 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown. A funeral service will be held after the viewing, followed by Interment at Emley's Hill Cemetery, Cream Ridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society .
