Obituary

Jerome ""Jerry"" Loncosky, 79, of Allentown, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Born in upstate PA; he was a resident of the Allentown area for many years. Jerry was a US Army veteran and throughout his life he was an active member of the Hope Fire Co., Coast Guard Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus, St. John's 50+ Club, Catholic War Veterans and the American Legion. He was also a devoted member of the Disabled American Veterans for over 60 years where he held many offices including Chapter 41 Commander and the NJ State Commander. Jerry received many awards for his service to the community and to veterans and was just awarded the DAV Lifetime Achievement Award. He loved boating, fishing, gardening, cooking, sports and his family, especially his grandchildren.

Son of the late Edna and Joseph Loncosky, he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jo; his three children, Carol and her husband Chet Lawrence, Roddy and his wife Lynn and Janet Sica; nine grandchildren, Christine, Caitlin and Craig Lawrence, Bruce, Tony and Steve Loncosky, Brian, Vincent and Nicholas Sica; brothers Ed, Chet and John; a sister Rita Hoover and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11am Monday, June 14th at St. John's Church 1282 Yardville Road, Allentown. Interment will follow at Brigadier Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. Friends may call 3 to 7pm Sunday at Peppler Funeral Home 114 So. Main St. Allentown. In lieu of Flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Fire Co., P.O.
