Obituary

Jeannine Carrier, 85, of Hamilton Twp., passed away of natural causes Friday, July 16, 2021. Born in Lewiston, Maine to her French-Canadian parents, Adelbert and Irene Dionne, Jeannine excelled in school. She married Lionel Carrier and they resided in Bar Harbor before moving their family to South Plainfield. While in South Plainfield, Jeannine worked at United National Bank where she formed many personal connections with her co-workers and clients. She retired after many years of service as an Assistant Bank Manager.   After retirement, Jeannine and her husband moved to Allentown, NJ where they enjoyed living in the Four Seasons Retirement Community.

A devout Catholic, she attended Sacred Heart Church while in South Plainfield and subsequently, St. John the Baptist Church while residing in Allentown. She also participated in the Altar Rosary Society at both parishes. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and looked forward to taking family vacations to Maine, Florida, the Jersey shore, and the Poconos. Over the years, Jeannine mastered the "art of shopping", spending many Saturdays shopping with her daughter and enjoying going to Broadway shows with her son Richard. She also volunteered her time as a band mom during her son Thomas' marching band years at South Plainfield HS. Jeannine's incredible talent as an accomplished pianist, and overall passion for music, inspired Don to take up piano lessons as a youngster and develop a similar passion for music that has endured to this day. So, in recent years, car rides to Belmar were accompanied by a rich repertoire of tunes as they headed to one of Jeannine's favorite locations, the Jersey shore.

Predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Lionel H. Carrier, Jeannine is survived by her four children; son, Donald Carrier and his wife, Diane; son, Richard Carrier and his wife, Lia; daughter, Denise Ratti and her husband Dean; and son, Thomas Carrier and his wife, Muriel; and seven grandchildren; Emily and Amanda Carrier; Michael, Christopher, and Nicholas Ratti; Matthew and Karl Carrier.

A viewing will be held Thursday, July 29th from 5:30-7:30 pm and again Friday, July 30th from 9:30-10:30 am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Friday, July 30th at St. John the Baptist RC Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Allentown. Interment will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
