Jean E. Makowski, 72, of Monroe Twp., passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Monroe Village. Born in Brooklyn, she grew up in Queens and resided in Old Bridge for most of her life before moving to Monroe after her retirement. Jean enjoyed taking cruises and playing cards with her friends. Above all she was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Daughter of the late Adam Klausz, she was predeceased by her husband Carl F. Makowski. Jean is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Klausz; her sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Jennifer Makowski and Jim and Kate Makowski; her grandchildren, Rachael, Sam and Billy; her sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Heinz Neumann and her nieces, Karen Keller and Kristine Robinson.

A viewing will be held Saturday, October 20 ^th from 2-5pm with a funeral service to begin at 5pm. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Women's Cancer Research Foundation, 351 Hospital Road, Suite 506, Newport Beach CA 92663.
