Obituary

Jane Elizabeth Hendrickson passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the age of 92. She was the beloved wife of Gene Lloyd Hendrickson of Cream Ridge, NJ whom she married on April 26, 1947. Mother of Patricia Hutton and her husband Lauren of Buckingham, PA and Gene Craig Hendrickson of Lakewood, NJ. She was the grandmother of Matthew, Andrew, Christopher and Karalyn. Daughter of the late Elizabeth and Thomas Tymons of New York, she was predeceased by her siblings, Winnifred, Charles, Margie, Thomas, and Betty. Jane was the treasurer and co-owner with her husband of Gene's Photo and Sport Center in Lakewood, NJ for 37 years. While raising her children in Lakewood, she was involved in the parents' club of Saint Mary Academy where her children attended school and where she served as president of the Mothers' Club. She also served as president of the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW post 4703. In 1980, she received her bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Trenton State College in New Jersey.

Her greatest delight in life was her grandchildren who she cheered on in their many pursuits and endeavors, attending their games, debates, plays, concerts and graduations when they were young. She was equally proud of them as adults as they graduated from colleges and law schools. They were the light of her life, and they adored her. She loved reading, theater, travel, and music and she loved the beautiful home that she and her husband built in the countryside. Above all, she was a kind, intelligent, courageous, loving woman with an optimistic outlook who gave wholeheartedly of herself and delighted in life. She will be greatly missed by her family and the many lives she touched.
