James R. Smith "Jim", age 79 of Bordentown, previously of Cream Ridge, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2015 with his loving family by his side. He was strong to the very end. Jim was predeceased by his parents Edward & Catherine, his brothers Edward & Thomas and his sisters Marie Larkin, Jane Domboski & Rita Esposito.

Born in Trenton, NJ, Jim graduated from Trenton Catholic Boys High School in 1954. He raised his family of four in Hamilton, NJ. He had been a proud member of the Hamilton Township Police Department and served as the Past President of the Hamilton Police PBA Local 66. Jim worked for & retired from the State of NJ Judiciary Dept. Jim was a friend of Bill W. for 37 years and was also a member of The Ancient Order of Hibernians, Joe Cahill Div. 10.

Jim was predeceased by his loving wife, Joan nee Muschal, whom he missed dearly. Surviving to cherish his memory are his devoted children, Sharon & Mick McCabe, Colleen & John Hanson, James T. & Janna and Christine & Anthony Belardo; his beloved grandchildren Michael James, Ryan, Jackie, Michael Louis, Alyssa, Matthew, Christopher & Carleigh and his sister, Helen Smith.

Family and friends may call on Monday, October 12 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at Peppler Funeral Home on 114 S. Main Street in Allentown, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00am on Tuesday, October 13th at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 555 Yardville Allentown Rd., Yardville, NJ 08620. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, C/O St. Vincent de Paul Church.
