May 28, 1934 – February 20, 2024
James T. Hamnett, Sr., 89, of Millstone, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Born in Lawrence Twp., NJ, he was a longtime Millstone resident. A US Navy Veteran serving in the Korean War, Jim was a Master Mechanic and worked for Mercer County Park Commission. A talented handyman, Jim could always find something to fix around the house. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening and fishing. Above all, Jim loved spending time with his family.
Son of the late Lawrence J. and Hilda Hamnett, he was predeceased by his wife, Mae L. Hamnett and his brother, Lawrence W. Hamnett. Jim is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James and Hillary Hamnett Jr; his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Tony Torres; his grandchildren, Amanda(Mike), Tristan(Jaimie), Emily, James III and Katelyn; his great grandchildren, Sarena, Orlando, Avery, Hazel, Brielle and Makayla; brother, Fred Hamnett; sister, Hilda Bostrom; his dear friends, Michael Matty, Buddy and Chucky as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 12 noon on Tuesday, February 27th at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 So. Main St. Allentown. Friends may call Tuesday 11 am until the time of service. Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown.
