Obituary

James P. Ferris, 89, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Community Medical Center, Van Dyke Hospice in Toms River. Born in Mitshell, Scotland, he had resided in Bordentown and Cape May before moving to Whiting 13 years ago. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and retired as a dispatcher from PSE&G in Trenton. James was a Bordentown Township Committeeman and was a past member of the American Legion Post #26, the Bordentown Elks #2085 BPOE and St. Mary's Church of Bordentown.

Husband of the late Frances M. Ferris, father of the late Jimmy Ferris and brother of the late Frances Traks and Margaret Jakemer, he is survived by five daughters, Carol Haas and her husband Russell of Brigantine, Margaret Trussell of Beaumont, TX., Ellen Ferris-Loop of Romney of W.VA, Mary Griner of Whiting and Nancy Wishbow and her husband Gregory of Ewing; a sister, Margaret Thieleman of Jupiter, FL, 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Saturday, April 10 at St. Mary's Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday evening 6 to 8 pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown.
