On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, the world released a beautiful soul back to Heaven to be reunited with his soulmate and love of his life, Linda.  Jack Martins, born July 17, 1946 in Portugal, passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly.

Rather than dwell on our intense heartbreak and loss, we want to celebrate his beautiful life.  He was quite literally the BEST grandfather to Eric Jr. and Owen.  He spent almost every single day with them.  He attended EVERY game, practice, concert and monumental occasion in their lives.  He was even present at both of their births.

Jack traveled on most of our family vacations with us, unless he had to be home to care for his 101 year old mother, Elvira, who is still with us – God bless her!  He was another father to his daughter-in-law, Deanna.  He was also the best father AND friend to his only son, Eric.  Jack was even the best man at his wedding.

After the passing of his beloved wife, Linda, in 2017, he moved to be closer to Eric and his family. He saw his family almost every day. The moments that he spent laughing and joking in the kitchen with us will be cherished forever.  Jack was just one of the most beautiful human beings we had the privilege to know.  He lived for his family.

He was a master craftsman and engineer by trade before he retired.  He made countless wooden cars and trains when the boys were little.  He later made numerous guitars for Eric and Owen.  He and EJ always bonded over their love of building things.  EJ loved sleeping over Pop Pop's house and grocery shopping for snacks. Jack lived for making his family happy. Everyone that knew Jack, loved him.

Jack is also survived by his sister, Maria Byrne and her husband, Bill; his nephews, Kevin Byrne and Chris Byrne and his wife, Eliza and their daughter, Zoe.

A viewing will be held on Monday, August 22 ^nd from 11am-1pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown.  Burial will be private at a later date.
