Jack E. Campbell, 78, passed away, Sunday, September 6, 2009 at his home in Cream Ridge. Born in Zelienople, PA., he had lived in Allentown, NJ, before retiring to Cream Ridge 9 years ago. He was a Korean War Navy Veteran, having served on the USS Siboney and the USS Palau. Jack retired from Coleman Fuel, in Allentown, and worked in his own greenhouse's raising both flowers and vegetables. He was a member of the Allentown Lions Club and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Great-grandfather of the late Payton Kowalewski, he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ellen L. Campbell (nee Semler); three daughters and one son-in-law, Laurel MacKenzie of Hamilton Twp., Aline Prutky and her husband Richard of Hamilton Twp. and Janice Campbell of Cherry Hill; a brother Robert Campbell and his wife Sue of Concord, NC, six grandchildren, Jennifer Colgan and her fiancé Alan Martin, Michelle Colgan, Jamie Colgan, David Floyd, Kyle Floyd and Nicholas Prutky, and three great grandchildren, Justin Wasson, MacKenna Martin and Travis Martin; an aunt, Lorraine Mussig and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be celebrated, Thursday 1pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown, NJ. Interment will be private In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jack's name to the Jeff Gordon Foundation, 4345 Papa Joe Hendrick Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28262, or to Victory Junction, 4500 Adam's Way Randleman, NC 27317.
