James Barry Lamb of Cream Ridge, NJ passed away in the early hours of December 24, 2016 in his home. Born February 26, 1935 in Camden, NJ, he was known as Barry and was a "farmer" his entire adult life. Barry graduated from Blair Academy and Delaware Valley College with a BS in Ornamental Horticulture. He married his wife of 60 years, Patricia Oakes on December 15, 1957. Barry was a farmer initially and later branched into landscaping. In 1963, he and his father James E. Lamb opened Lamb's Farm Market and Garden Center in Yardville, NJ. While the elder Lamb ran the Garden Center, Barry started his many commercial landscaping jobs including NJ Turnpike, Fort Dix and the Bristol Bridge.
Barry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia Lamb. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Charlotte Lamb and his sister, Patricia Shultz. Barry is also survived by his sister, Mary McClean; his children, Nancy Lamb, Thomas Lamb and his wife, Lisa, Donna Meoli and her husband, Pete, Margaret Lamb and her husband, Steve Bodmer and his "son", Raymond VanCampenhout; ten grandchildren, Lisa Kern (Gary), Sara Genovese (Mike), Cody and Dillon Lamb, Anthony, Daniel and Christian Meoli and Emma, Olivia, and Andrew Bodmer; two great-grandchildren, Logan Kern and Kaiden Genovese as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 11am on Thursday, December 29th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown. Interment will follow in the Cream Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 9am until the time service at the funeral home.
