Irving C. Carslake, 78, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016, at his home in Sabinsville, PA.
Born in Columbus, NJ, he was a resident of the area before moving to Sabinsville 20 years ago.
Irv was a graduate of Bordentown High School and was a retired boiler operator for the Correction Center in Camden, NJ. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge #28 F&AM of Bordentown for over 50 years, as well as the Valley of Central Jersey AASR and Crescent Temple AAONMS. He was an active outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and golfing, held a NJ State Title in "skeet shooting", and won many dart championships. He enjoyed woodworking, creating many pieces of furniture, was an avid cook and gardener and most of all enjoyed a good joke.
Predeceased by his parents, William and Helen Carslake, his brothers, Robert B. and William C. Jr. Carslake and sister, Ruth Ridgeway , he is survived by his wife Gertrude Carslake, his beloved daughter, Melissa Bauma and her husband Bob of Springfield Twp, his brother Joseph R. Carslake and his wife Nancy of East Norriton, PA, four grandchildren: Brittany, Bobby Jr and his wife Suzanne and Haylee Bauma and step granddaughter Nicole Murray/Cash, two stepsons, Daniel Murray and Joseph Murray and Gloria Shepherd all of Greenville, VA, a sister in-law, Joan Carslake of Columbus, NJ and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 12 noon Saturday, January 30 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Family and friends may call Saturday morning from 9 am until time of services. Masonic Services will begin at 12pm, followed by the prayer service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Charity Foundation, 902 Jacksonville Rd, Burlington, NJ 08016.
