Irma Dougherty, 97, of Hamilton Township passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Morris Hall in Lawrenceville. Born in Trenton, she was a resident of the Hamilton Twp. area for most of her life and owned and operated, with her husband, Dougherty's Market in the De Cou area. Irma was a member of St. Stephens Church and was a lifetime member of the De Cou Hose Company, Ladies Auxiliary in Hamilton and the Mercer County Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member and past president of the De Cou Senior Citizens and was an avid bingo player.
Wife of the late Joseph Dougherty, she was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Homa. Irma is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Catherine Chebra of Hamilton Square; her daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Mark Gulbinsky of Bordentown Twp.; two grandsons, Donald Chebra and Edward Devlin as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Wednesday, March 31st at St. Mary's Church, 45 Crosswicks St. Bordentown. Interment will follow in St. Stephens Cemetery, Hamilton. Friends may call Tuesday from 5:30 to 9pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown.
