Irene P. Wiley, 96, of Allentown, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at home with her nephew Owen and his wife, Nancy by her side. Irene was a life-long Allentown resident. She loved flowers and her favorite past time was making beautiful flower arrangements and tending to and sitting in her backyard garden. She was always humming a tune or listening to music, especially Daniel O'Donnell. Irene was a devout Christian, a women of great faith and a long-time member of the Chesterfield Baptist Church, where she had many caring friends.

Predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, George F. Wiley; her parents, Walter and Myrtle Briggs; three siblings and her cherished niece, Carol Briggs Gartland, Irene is survived by her devoted nephew and his wife, Owen and Nancy Briggs; her loving brother, Owen Briggs Sr. and his life partner, Margaret Murphy; her great nieces and their husbands and children, Megan, Jason and Patrick Nowak, Laura, Anthony, Makayla Irene and Isabella Kennie Princiotta; Julie, Paul and Noelle Grace McGowan; her nephew-in-law, Jack Gartland; her great nephew and his wife and children, Justin, Jill, Jackson and Joseph Gartland; and three special friends, Jolan Keks, Elsie Forgan and Betty Stotler.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Saturday, July 19th, at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St, Allentown, NJ, with Pastor Ed DeSilva officiating. Interment will follow in Allentown Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
